Not commiting specs/plans?

So, I don't know if this is a dummy question, but after I updated Spec-Kit earlier this week, Claude is no longer committing all files. All the spec and planning is left behind until I explicitly say to add them.
Is this expected? I have no idea if this is related to Sepc-kit at all, a claude-thing or just a random fluke.
It does give me a certain increase in control of what's pushed to Github, but for my purposes in private repos, that's not needed - I want to keep it all in one place.

Could be any number of things. Have you tried to reproduce it on another project?

Yeah, but not one one without spec-kit, yet. But it seems to me that this has to be related to Claude (both sonnet and opus)l, I can't see that anything from the spec-kit prompts should do this. My other projects had claude.md's that were explicit enough that they would not skip that anyway, I haven't gotten around to experimenting with removing those instructions. I see several others building commit skills / prompts are very explicit about file staging. for my playground I haven't bothered be that strict always, but maybe I should be.

Lock the variables before assuming a logic bug:

1. Exact version (not “latest”) and OS
2. Minimal repro: clean profile/session, extra plugins off
3. First error block (missing from the post — add it if you can)

Repo: github/spec-kit. With those three, this is usually install vs config vs upstream. Searching the title keywords in Issues avoids duplicating a known thread.
